Blaugust Day 5: New Pets in Pirate101

Pirate101 Test Is Now Live, YASSSSSSS!

Last night, in the wee hours of the morning, Pirate101 Test swung like Tarzan into the Live game. This means Ranked PvP, Pirate Ship Regatta and new Pets!

New Pets in Crown Shop

You know how much I love Pets, so imagine my surprise when I saw two new pets in the Crown Shop!

Available for 5k Crowns

Available for 6500 Crowns

New Pets in Pirate Regatta

Then I found out that the new Pirate Regatta drops new pets! While doing the Pirate Regatta, I noticed something interesting. Each boss battle has a mob that drops itself as a pet. There's a boss battle that happens after every wave where you have to board and fight hand to hand combat.

This was dropped during the first boss battle and it's actually what made me notice about the mobs dropping itself as a pet. I noticed that they had Bull Pup mob, then I got it as a pet. That's when I realized that I saw a pattern with other boss battles in the Regatta.

The second boss battle had Mutt Squawker which is also dropped. It's confirmed since a friend, Frostcaller, got it as a pet drop.

The third boss battle had Shellfish Crawlie which is also dropped. It's confirmed since someone got it as a drop.

This is also confirmed. This was dropped during the fourth boss battle. Again, notice that there's Sand Shark mob and then the Sand Shark pet? This is no coincidence. And no I did not name this shark Sir Sneaker. I mean sharks don't even wear Sneakers...

And lastly, this Seafoam Spectre pet is dropped in the final boss battle. Again, the similarity continues. My only question about those Regatta pets is do they also create hybrids?! I sure hope so.

New Pet From Companion Tasks

Not only that, Reddrum is a brand new pet you can get from Companion Tasks. Also, Redrum can produce the Grouper hybrid when mixed with any pet. SWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!

New PvP Pets

The Apex Shark pets are sold by the PvP Pet Vendor, Honest Thomas Purdue, in Brawlin' Hall. Thanks Tom! Each color is a different class. I am a Swashbuckler, so I bought the purpule one. They apparently have great pvp talents, so I will train mine up and hope it shows something good!

Blaugust Day 4: New One Shot Duels Badges

When I was doing the one shot duels, I noticed that there were new badges for them. I took pictures of the badges I earned and discovered. I was tickled by some of them. I instantly loved Gumshoe and Super Sleuth because who wouldn't be a detective like Sherlock Bones. It's hard for me to pick a second favorite. Probably the Krokopatra badges.

Gumshoe - Do (1) Meowarity One Shot Duel

Super Sleuth - Do (10) Meowarity One Shot Duel

Bone Rattler - Do (1) Rattlebone One Shot Duel

Bone Grinder - Do (10) Rattlebone One Shot Duel

Krokopatra's Bane- Do (1) Krokopatra One Shot Duel

Krok Queen Quasher - Do (10) Krokopatra One Shot Duel

Champion of the Sky - Do (1) Zeus One Shot Duel

Immortal Conqueror - Do (10) Zeus One Shot Duel

I have all badges except Immortal Conqueror. I plan on trying to collect it this week.  Zeus is quite a formidable opponent and ten times is quite a hurdle. I hope it goes well! I'm also hoping that it will make me lucky enough to get a death school mount as a drop. That mount is actually my favorite out of all school mounts that's available to craft and obtain.

Are you also working on the badges? Which one? All of them? Any of them your favorite?

Blaugust Day 3: Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgust Pirates!

So Pirates, it's August, my hearties. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrr you excited? I sure am because that means that it's time to open the treasure chest of surprises!

Last Year's Arrrgust Events

Last year, we were surprised with a Pirate101 contest - Design An Eyepatch. We had a blast doing that. So many great artists submitted amazing work.

We also had Shark Week which unfortunately we definitely will not have this month. But we also were surprised with awesome Aquila furniture that was introduced in the Crown Shop. I know for a fact that Paige Moonshade was squealing with excitement last year. And as always, the official Pirate101 fansites gave away prizes to celebrate this wonderful event!

Last Year's Arrrgust Events

For this year,  Arrrgust will start off with a bang. It starts with official Pirate101 fansites' giveaways and contests. Pirate101 was very kind to send all of the official Pirate101 fansites a small pile of Solar Saber cat mounts and 10k Crowns codes. Thanks Leala and Tom!

Current Year's Arrrgust Pirate Events

I already put up a raffle below for one of the prizes, but rest assured, other contests will be coming very shortly. I just got to figure out how to keep you pirates properly entertained. You lot are a very distracted bunch. I blame it on the yum. But do keep your eye on the official contest page at: http://www.starsofthespiral.com/p101-contests

So what else will we expect this month? I don't know. But I know one thing - it's gonna be fun!

Blaugust Day 2: Pirate101 Test Realm - New Furniture in the Regatta Dungeon

A Bookshelf? Perfect for all of my books!

This week's updates in the Pirate101 Test Realm brought new furniture drops in the Pirate's Regatta dungeon. More specifically, "smuggled goods from Wizard City!"

Whoa, Furniture From Wizard City? Like Wizard101?

Yep, I'm telling the truth. It was stated right in the test realm update notes. I know, I couldn't believe it either. It's fabulous news for us house decorators!

Found in Pirate101 Update Notes for Test Realm

Wait up, what is a Regatta?

The Pirate's Regatta is a dungeon where you go in and fight other ships in waves. Each wave will give you gold or something special like a furniture. You can earn scrip there as well. It's a great challenge for those who love ship fighting.

Personally, I'm pretty stoked that we will be seeing Wizard City furniture in Pirate101. Some people received furniture that was pretty much dipped in gold. I guess pirates do ask for the best quality in furniture. Can you imagine our houses decked out with those furniture? It's gonna be SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!

Post your furniture drops in the comments below. I'm so curious what you guys got!

The Blaugust Challenge - Day 1

One day in middle of July, I noticed a tweet from one of the gaming sites that had "Blaugust challenge" in it. I was instantly curious, so I clicked on it and was totally surprised as well as truly tickled.

It's hosted by a well known blog - Tales of the Aggronaut, owned by Belghast. Last August, Belghast started a cool blog challenge to challenge us into making one blog post per day for the entire month of August. If you survive it, you could win steam games, game keys, etc. And he's starting it again this year. And what's even better, this year the challenge is even open to vloggers!

I have been looking for something to challenge me as a writer, so I am hoping this will inspire me or wear me out. I am pretty curious if I will make it. And if I do, will it really change my writing skills or not? It's an interesting experiment for me. You should try it out as well for fun!

I hope that my posts for Blaugust will also be a great read for you. I will be making one per day, so I hope you can keep up with me. Can't wait to see what you all do for Blaugust. May the blogging be ever in your favors. I know I'm silly. But whatever, it's Saturday and I'm still half asleep.
