A Guide to Aquila Fish: War, Love & Myths

New fish has arrived in Aquila to the delights of Wizard Fisherpeople! You now can reel in a fish that could accidentally spear you or a fish that sure will make you act silly with whatever they got in that mug. Can you say yum? At least you will have fun, forgetting that you got a spear fish in your leg. Huzzah!

And better yet, you could have a fish that could shoot an arrow at you. Arrows of love, of course!!!!! I just hope that you don't accidentally fall in love with a statue. I mean, that's ... bad. Right? At least it won't talk back.

The Green Circles Marks The Fishing Spots. Why else?

In the lone water source where fish can be found, you can reel in the following fish.
Make sure you fish on both sides of the pier. Not just the far left, the other right side has fish as well!

This will raise the total fish count to 171.

Subtitles Are More Important Than You Think

Captioning and/or subtitling should not be excluded especially for today's games which can be much more complicated than the classic Mario & Luigi game. It's very important to caption games and even game trailers. It's often neglected and deemed not important to add. I have noticed many complaints from the deaf community, lamenting that their favorite game didn't even put captions for a certain game and/or trailer. This causes the companies to lose customers. They might think, oh well, it's just a few people. That's such a wrong response to have. It's about including a group of the community who otherwise would not be able to understand and play.

Because of this problem, TeamCaptionThis was created by a deaf gamer, DeafGamersTV, to caption gaming trailers. I think this is horrible. Why should they have to caption those videos for the game companies and for themselves? The game companies should already be doing this. They should be working on making sure that everyone can understand their game or trailer. This goes to show you how serious this problem is within the gaming community. This is a need that should not be ignored. Heck, if you put your trailers on YouTube, you can even pay Youtube to manual caption your videos for you.

But on the bright side, Complusion Games had something great to say on this topic.

As a Deaf person, I agree! But subtitles helps everyone really. Not just the deaf. The hard of hearing. Or even hearing people who cannot understand what the heck is going on. Or older people who cannot keep up with the conversation. Or people who just need to keep their sound down because they're in a library.

Thankfully there are companies like Compulsion Games or EA who are willing to listen and add subtitles or equal accessibility. We need more companies like them.

I also have to say that as a Kickstarter backer, I am very happy at this point that I backed this game. I think that it is very important for us to support game companies that are willing to use subtitles in their games. We also should support companies like EA who are willing to listen to your needs. We need equal accessibility for everyone. Games should be inclusive to everyone. EVERYONE. Period. End of discussion.

I would love to see more articles and more awareness on this topic on gaming news sites. I notice that it's not really talked about because well, it's probably not a friendly topic or because it doesn't "fit their site." I strongly encourage all game news sites to open a discussion and help people understand that this is a topic that shouldn't be swept under the rug. Please help us have a voice. But I have to say, thank you Massively for mentioning my past post about the importance of captioning game trailers. I never forgot that. It really touched me since it was such an important issue. Thank you. Really, thank you.

My Thoughts -

I think a lot of those items' prices should be reduced. Sultan's Palace doesn't even include a potion. If you needed to buy a potion, it would cost you 3,500 Crowns. So if you bought a palace and a potion, that would cost you 16,000 Crowns. That's a lot of Crowns. But at least it does come with a PvP ring and a genie that gives random surprises.

The Magic Carpet mount's price should be reduced as well. 5,000 Crowns should do it. Same goes for the Charmer Snake pet. Think about it people, you can hatch for a copy of the Charmer Snake pet. No need to spend 9,000 Crowns. Heck, if you hatch it with a great charmer snake pet, you could even have a better pet than the original! Wizard101 is missing out on this opportunity for people to spend crowns on a pet. Pets in my opinion should be priced at 5k or under because come on, we have a pet hatchery for a reason! If you price them way too high, nobody will want to buy the pet because again, we have a pet hatchery for a reason!

The gears' prices I would think is reasonable. You do have many options after all. You can buy the basic gear and stitch it over for looks. 

Pirate101's Test Realm Party!

Arrrrgh, mateys! Pirate101 is opening the Test Realm today! No, there's nothing new in Test Realm. Pirate101 has a new hardware configuration in Test Realm and they need a lot of people to visit it to test to see if it can handle a large amount of people at once.

But that's not all. They're going to have a party where you can join people to fight the turrents in the Skull Island Skyway and maybe a bit of Pet Sparring in Bestia and more. In middle of all of that, Pirate101 might share a code!

The "Let's Spread Some Love" Project

Here's a contest for you all! I had this crazy idea. But I thought why not? I want you to create a real life valentine card with a positive message where you can leave it for someone to find it. Maybe you will cheer someone day or make their day.

What We Need:

My only requirement is that you create a card shaped like a heart, write a positive but simple message, place it somewhere where people will find it, take a picture of it and post it in the topic post.

Requirements:

The heart has to be white, pink or red. It can be small enough to fit in your hand. We will also need two photos.

1 - Please take a picture of the inside of the card with the random positive quote you wrote in the place where you left the card. Make it Instagram worthy. Take a picture of it being somewhere where people are, on a Starbucks table, wedged in a school locker, in a library book, on a church pew. And the heart might look better if it was decorated, just saying.

2 - Also take a second picture of the back of the card where you will write "#TheSotSProject." This is just to prove that you didn't steal it off the internet. When you take this picture, please take the picture where you are leaving the card, so both photos match up.

Now, to be fair, I ask for one heart card for each entry. But, I really do hope you guys make many heart cards and spread them around anyway with different messages. We need more positivity, kindness and love right now.

What Are Your Best Friendship Stories?

I'm quite curious what is your best friendship story you had in Wizard101 or Pirate101. Please post yours in the comments below this blog post.

One of my favorite friendship stories actually happened in a dungeon. I remember being so bored in the Waterworks dungeon. This was years ago when we were Level 60 and we needed our Level 60 Waterworks gear. Boy, those days were brutal.

While farming with my friends, I suddenly hear Cody and Timmy, two of my best friends singing Adele songs. But Cody would sing one song and Timmy would sing another. It was marvelous how they sang together, one line after other like it was one song, not two. I would never forget that moment. It made the whole run fun listening to them sing the whole way through. It made farming easier. Ah, the good old days of Wizard101!
